The Opportunity

We seek an experienced, passionate, and highly motivated Sales Engineer based in Stamford, CT and/or New York, NY to bring our solutions to life each day, turning prospects into customers and to establish new customer deployments. The team is also tasked with helping Tru Optik’s existing customers integrate our technology with a wide variety of other systems, including ad serving tools, programmatic technologies and various data integrations post the initial integration. Because of the wide variety of systems this team must communicate with customers and partners frequently and must be able to find clever solutions to complex integration problems.

As the hub of configuration design and customer interaction, this position is also tasked with developing and sharing best practices across Tru Optik and providing support to the engineering organization. This is first Sales Engineer hire which means this person will have a direct hand in how the company manages bringing on new business and servicing existing clients which also creates a strong opportunity for career growth.

This position will initially report to the SVP of Operations or the Director of Sales Engineering & Technical Services.

Key Responisibilities

  • Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer requirements and provide sales support
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations explaining products or services to customers and prospects
  • Conduct demos and attend in-person question and answer sessions for new sales
  • Confer with customers, product management and engineering to assess system and product requirements
  • Participate in our product release cycle through requirement gather, design vetting, and user acceptance testing
  • Architect solutions during presales process based on the ability to translate business requirements directly from customers
  • Assist in documenting our products
  • Provide training to our internal teams, and occasionally to our clients
  • Plan and modify products to meet customer needs
  • Help in researching and developing new products

About You

  • BA/BS degree and 3-6 years experience with internet technologies
  • You have strong communication skills – this position requires significant amount of client interaction. Being a Sales Engineer is all about explaining how the technology solution solves the business problem.
  • You have solid skills with excel and CRM management
  • You should have working knowledge of the ad tech ecosystem, database structure, and MySQL
  • You think creatively and solve problems actively. This is not a position where requirements or solutions will be spoon fed to the team.
  • You are passionate about sharing your knowledge and experiences with others
  • You have a background in online advertising, or Internet technologies/companies
  • You are educated in CS/EE/related technical field, preferably but not required
