Andre is a proven leader and entrepreneur with a wide range of experience in marketing, finance, and starting and growing companies. As CEO and co-founder of Tru Optik, he has led the company’s business development, product innovation and go to market strategy. Under Andre’s leadership, Tru Optik has become the preferred over-the-top data and technology partner for many of the world’s largest media companies, brands, and agencies. Before founding Tru Optik, Andre served as a Vice President of Investments at JP Morgan Chase and also led the Media and Entertainment division at a boutique investment bank in New York City. Prior to that, he owned one of the region’s largest night clubs and special event production companies working with many of the largest millennial-facing brands and entertainers in the world. Andre holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Connecticut.
Frans has over 20 years of experience in TV, digital, mobile, SaaS sales strategy and corporate development. In his role as COO, Mr. Vermeulen will be responsible for growing Tru Optik’s revenue, commercial enterprise and global expansion. Additionally, Mr. Vermeulen will lead Tru Optik’s business operations and implement a recruitment strategy to expand Tru Optik’s teams domestically and abroad. Most recently, Frans served as the VP of Advanced Strategy and Operations at Comcast where he focused on global advertising strategy, related technologies, partnerships/corporate development and the acquisitions of ThisTechnology, Adazzle, VisibleWorld and StickyAds.tv. Prior to Comcast, Frans served as Senior Vice President of Global Solutions and Corporate Development at FreeWheel leading to the company’s acquisition by Comcast. He also held key management positions at aCerno (acquired Akamai), Cendant, and DoubleClick (acquired by Google). Frans graduated from Boston College with a B.A in Political Science and Marketing and received his MBA from NYU Stern School of Business.
David has over 20 years experience in consulting, strategy development, and product management. Most recently, David built and led the E-Commerce Practice Area at Nielsen, where his team worked with many of world’s largest advertisers and retailers to help them develop winning e-commerce strategies. Prior to Nielsen, David headed the Business Insights function at Ocean Spray Cranberries. David is a graduate of Franklin and Marshall College. In his role as Chief Strategist, David will be responsible for aligning Tru Optik's solution portfolio with marketplace needs by leveraging internal capabilities and identifying external assets that can enhance or complement Tru Optik's ability to help companies measure and monetize digital media.
Marc S. Hollander began his career leading technology development at MovieFone through its successful IPO and ultimate acquisition by Aol. While at Aol, Hollander lead six product development teams spanning the globe responsible for the company’s Streaming Media, Video Advertising and O&O media properties. Upon his departure from Aol, Hollander went on to lead the digital technology division at Rodale and later was appointed CTO at KickApps, an innovative provider of social media and video technologies for publishers. Hollander lead KickApps’ technology team until its acquisition by Piksel where he lead development of broadcast grade IPTV software solutions for the Telecom and MVPD industries. As EVP of technology at Tru Optik, Hollander manages the day-to-day software development and network operations for the business.
Alex is the managing partner of GVCA. He is an experienced leader, investor and advisor in digital media, technology and marketing. He has guided several start ups to successful public offerings and acquisitions. As the Vice President of Product Marketing for AOL’s Audience business he lead product strategy across 60 different media and social oriented products; including the company’s commercialization of peer-to-peer technology for delivering high quality video and audio experiences. Following his time at AOL, Alex helped lead Jump TV - one of the world's first cloud based IPTV services through its IPO as its acting President and COO. As CEO of KickApps, an Enterprise Social Media SaaS provider, Alex helped incubate Admeld, an innovative ad-tech company, and served as a Board Member until its acquisition by Google for $400M.
Kristi is an experienced corporate leader having held both operational and financial roles in large public and private companies that span healthcare, technology and financial services. She currently serves as an Executive Advisor for Thomas H. Lee Partners focusing on the Healthcare IT sector. She previously was the Chief Financial and Administrative officer for athenahealth (ATHN), a company focused on providing technology systems to health care providers. She was also previously responsible for the Government Services business at aetna (AET). Prior to aetna, she served as the CFO of USAA. In addition to Tru Optik she is on the board of axa Equitable Life where she chairs both the Compensation Committee and the Nominating and Governance Committee.
Nick is the founder and a Senior Managing Director of Progress Partners and a founder of Progress Ventures. He is a proven corporate finance executive with 20 years experience working with early stage companies in business strategy and development. Progress Ventures has a proven track record of investing early in innovative digital media technology companies such as MediaMath, Pixability, Localytics and Integral Ad Science. Prior to founding Progress, Nick served in senior marketing and product development roles at Virtual Access Networks, MyWay.com (CMGi) and Scotia Pharmaceuticals.
Douglas is responsible for sourcing new investment opportunities, evaluating and negotiating investments, and supporting the growth and success of portfolio companies. Before joining CI, Douglas gained extensive experience with early-stage businesses as both an operator and adviser. He founded a consulting firm to assist early-stage companies identify and assess growth opportunities, generate sustainable revenue and manage intellectual property. As a senior consultant at a boutique management consulting firm, Douglas provided strategic advisory services to companies in the software, telecommunications, information technology and medical device industries. He advised investors in early-stage businesses, representing more than $250 million in invested capital. Earlier in his career, Douglas spent more than a decade in the telecommunications industry, primarily focused on international voice, data and IP networks in emerging markets.
Marshall is a media industry pioneer. He was instrumental in the launch of numerous American cable networks including ESPN 2, ESPNews, TV Land, and The Food Network. He currently runs Marshall Cohen Associates, a consulting and marketing research firm, and is a member of the Pilot Group, a New York-based private equity firm. Most recently Marshall served as Executive Vice President, Corporate Research at Univision Communications. He has previously served on the Board of Directors of the Electronic Media Ratings Council, The Advertising Research Foundation (ARF), the Board of Governors of the National Academy of Cable Programming, the Board of Directors (as Chairman) of the Cable Television Administration and Marketing Society (CTAM).
Eric is a business leader in digital, mobile and social marketing at the Fortune 500 and start-up level. Eric founded and built BrandinHand, one of the original and largest mobile marketing companies, selling the company in 2010. Eric created and monetized the largest Internet streaming event in history – NCAA March Madness on Demand. His efforts helped CSTV Online become a 240-site ad network and go on to be acquired by CBS Corporation. Eric was the Executive Director of Interactive at Ogilvy & Mather and currently serves as the Chief Marketing Officer of Radium One Inc.
Dave Gwozdz has more than 20 years in digital media technology and advertising. Gwozdz was most recently CEO of mobile advertising company, Mojiva, which through his leadership, grew to one of the largest mobile media companies and was eventually acquired by Pubmatic in 2014. Earlier in his career, Gwozdz started one of the first online ad networks which was acquired by, and was the genesis of the DoubleClick media network, where Gwozdz was one of the original employees. DoubleClick was later acquired by Google for $3 Billion. Gwozdz serves as a strategy advisor to several fast growing digital companies
